ABOUT THIS MINISTRY

On average 50% or leave the church. By 10th grade, most students have made up their mind if they plan to be a part of the church after High School. I think we can all agree this is a problem, so what are we willing to do to be a part of the solution?

Several years ago, a couple of researchers set out to try and find the root of the problem in why kids are leaving the church. Their research led them to a term called "Sticky Faith" and the idea of creating a faith that will stick with them beyond high school years. What they found was there is not one thing we can do in order to help create this sticky faith but there are certain things that play a huge factor. What they found was that involvement in inter-generational worship and forming inter-generational relationships correlated with a mature faith in high school and college - this coupled with a solid biblical foundation.

This is not something new - Scripture is full of references to how generations need to declare examples of God's work to each other. Psalm 89:1 says we should make faithfulness known through all generations - what that means is that if the church is permanently divided into age-segregated classes, communities, and worship experiences then it will be hard for those intergenerational opportunities to take place.
